These are the first set of Audio we recorded to one ADAT.  These were recorded live.  The Drums were only mic'd with a SM-57 in the kick and a Realistic Plate mic for the overhead....when you are done laughing, you will be glad to know that we will be re-recording these tracks...again live...with real mics on the drums.  A complete list of gear will be added then.

Dying Day

The Next Chapter

These songs are from my band Dying Day...Chapter XI without Bryce on vocals...and are not completed...I am just dropping them here so the guys can download them.  They are scratch recordings with no vocals...we gots no singer yet.  We practice in my Project Studio and plug in Direct.  Levels are pretty much our practice levels.  I've been messing around with some minor post production stuff and sometimes edits to the songs, as explained below.

Anyway...                                           Updated March 15, 2004
Front Ear/Beatdown Adventure is actually the first and third songs we wrote.   Mike and Chris wrote the main riffs, I came up with the Star Trek lick at the beginning of the song (actually Chris was messing around right after we started recording, and I combined his noodling to come up with it.  The guys liked it so we kept it.  This is the updated and edited version with the intro played in real time.

Tool Time is the Second song we wrote...The riff before the breakdown was given to us by my neighbor who is auditioning to be our singer.  Mike and Chris wrote the rest.  Updated and Edited.

Ghetto Chylde is the Fourth song.   I came up with the Intro and the section where the intro repeats with the counterpoint guitar...Scott, Chris and Mike wrote the rest of the song.  I made some minor editing changes....First I extended the part where the counterpoint guitar (Chris) comes in, the second thing I did was take out the rhythm guitar right after the solo and faded both guitars out so that the bass grooves it.  Updated and Edited.

Updated 23 March, 2004

Scott's Lament was written by Chris originally.  I came up with what is now the intro and verse.  Me and Chris came up with the heavy section towards the end.  Scott came up with a cool bass line for the verse/chorus sections...finally (LOL...the bass line wasn't finished at the last week when we started writing it...hence the name).  It took me a while to come up with a drum part that worked well enough for the chorus and bridge riff that Chris came up with.  I auto panned the single guitar parts at the beginning intro and during the heavy section intro.  And extended the heavy section to build a little more tension.  I also took out an extremely bad heavy section outro fill and changed it to something simpler.

The One was written by all of us...Chris came up with the main and clean riffs and Scott came up with the bass line that became the intro and verse.  Me and Chris came up with the heavy.  Mike came up with the "doodle" guitars in the verse (the actually "doodling" has been completely figured out yet). I auto panned the doodling guitar parts and the single guitar part during the heavy section. This was probably the most volatile writing section we've had.

Updated 12 April 2004

The Darkness was written by Mike, Chris and I.   Mike thought up the verse; Chris came up with the pre-chorus and chorus, with much input from me and Mike; I came up with a clean part that Chris modified, and we all arranged.  This is a new version with bass.

Concerto in FU was written by Chris and I.  I came up with the intro lick and the lick where the double bass is. Scott came up with the idea to drop down half a step during the chorus.  The songs not done yet.

Updated 27 April 2004

Dead Horsies was written by Chris with the chorus and pre-chorus written by the rest of us.

Starfish 69 was written by Chris and Scott.

Everybody works together with particulars and arrangements of the songs and the arrangements will change when we get a vocalists...or maybe not, but all songs and their titles are still works in progress and are uploaded as practiced...mistakes and all.
