History of my Drums
(newest to oldest)

Pearl VMX/Hart Dynamics Hybrid Kit!

Added half my Hart Dynamics electronic kit! What the hell is wrong with me! Using the Roland TD-8 V-Drum module along with Cubase Sequel 2 to handle percussion and loops.

Foot Control

Using the old Pearl PowerShifter double pedal for the Hart Dynamic Hammer Kick pad...removed the main (right) footboard

New addition

Hart Dynamics SnareHH and AccuPads

Roland TD-8 VDrum module and Hart Dynamics Accupad

Swapped the aux snare/side tom, swapped the 18" crashes with the 18" chinas.

Better ergonomics

The full VMX kit!

It sounds as good as it looks!

Couldn't hang all the crashes, so I just hung the ride

Had to swap Hi-hat/Remote Hi-Hat positions

The regular hats were slightly blocking the 8" tom, so I swapped positions with the remote hat...

The Aux Snare basket

I used to use an ISS bracket for the aux snare, but the basket allows me to change the snare MUCH faster if needed.

Spankin New 2008 VMX in Vintage Wine

The new kit...well part of it. At the time of this pic, the 22x18 kick, 13x10 tom, and 14x14 floor tom was on backorder, and I was still waiting on a bunch of hardware. The Sabian B8s will go to the practice kit (Export Selects).

I kinda llike the "hanging" cymbals...I wonder if I can do that when I get the real cymbal set on this kit.

California Kit configuration 1

This is basically the same set up I used with Drawdge in Maryland

My view of the Cali Set-up

set up in my garage...Man, my neighbors probably hate me

Cali Setup 2

This is the second set up...2 weeks after the last one...and I'm about to change it...AGAIN

Cali Setup: Behind the kit

took off the Aux Snare...put the 13" back in (3rd tom)...will put the aux snare back in after I get another tom holder for it

Cali Setup 3

I thought I'd give the flat tom thing a try. I'm diggin it so far. Gained a little speed around the toms.

Cali setup 3

Cali setup 3

Cali Setup 4

made some room in The Garage. Added a Pearl RH-2000 remote hat, 13" Pearl Steel Piccolo, and mounted 2 roto-toms to the rack for fun.

I also finally fixed the snare that came with the kit, so now I have three snares to choose from.

Cali Setup 5

Setup to record in the garage...the original China cymbal was cracked and replaced with a new one (same 18" AAX). I removed the cracked section (approx 4") from the original and put it on the left side since it has a higher pitch than the replacement. I also removed the 12" splash and replace it with a splash stack (8" on a 10")...since both splashes are cracked, I call it a Splat Stack.

This is the 5pc config that I went to Korea with.

This is the final mr slate config.

I used this setup the longest. Taken at Southside a bar in Mobile, AL sometime in 1999

This is the Nervous Wreck/Two Tone setup.

Taken at JT's place, friend of the band that let us pratice in his side house.

The Vintage Wine Pearl Export Select 7pc.

This is the first mr slate configuration I used. This pic was taken at the Vandenberg Recreation Center where mr slate practiced.

Same mr slate config with roto-toms added

This set of pics were taken in the closed theater at Keesler AFB where mr slate practiced for awhile

These pics were taken in my shop in Spangdahlem, Germany

The Chrome Pearl Export 5 Pc with Roto-toms.

Drums are 12, 13, 16 power toms, snare is 14x6.50, the kick is 22x16. The Ride(20") and Crashes (17"&18") are Meinls The splashes (8", 10", 12") are Sabian
