Chapter XI is the band that I joined based in Germantown, MD...a good 30 - 45 minutes from where I live.  I actually found them while looking for musician referral websites.  They were listed on an obscure site that I just happened to find about 3 months after I got here.  Fortunately the ad had a link to the band's website  where I was able to check them out.  To their surprise, I emailed them and set-up an audition with them.   They (WE) are primarily an original Heavy not quite Nu-Metal band.    We used all of our various influences, ranging from Led-Zep to Jam bands to a conglomeration of progressive and heavy metal with a splash of punk to create a solid, driven sound.   Both guitarists work well to complement each other.

Dying Day is a Chapter XI reunion of sorts.  After I left Chapter XI, I joined a "college rock" band called Carpet of Stars (COS).  I left COS and got an email from Scott who wanted to do a reunion show or something for Chapter XI.  Chris, Mike and I were all for getting together again to write, but we wanted to go somewhere else vocally.  So we decided to work out of my newly built project studio.
